IMPRESSIONS IN BLACK AND WHITE

Anchor 1

A movement that has always interested me is Impressionism and its attempt to communicate a sense of place through the artists impression of a moment in the relationships of light, form and movement.

The photograph attempts to capture something in the nature of an experience on camera in a single frame.

With "Impressions in Black and White"  by removing colour it leads to further abstracting the subject and allowing for more personal interpretations. Using natural elements in this series the layering and filtering of different light through them creates natural brushstrokes leading to both planned and unexpected results.
