While Ive been photographing ocean scapes over the past few years as my interest in photography grew, Ive only recently started photographing the experience in black and white. Similar to my other ocean scape landscapes this series uses a variety of on camera techniques such as black carding, light painting and longer exposure times to abstract and capture the moment in a frame. By adding the black and white as a process applied to photograph it has made me have to rethink and relook the way I engage the subject, and exposes a different aspect to the scene.

As always, It's not about always about the longest exposure times, but about capturing the unpredictability of various interacting factors

in a single frame.
